The number of Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian nationals expelled by the German authorities has increased in the recent years, reports German daily Bild, quoted by De Spiegel. By the end of August, Germany expelled 476 people to their countries of origin while it repatriated only 61 others in 2015. In 2017, 634 Moroccan nationals were sent back to the Kingdom. 400 Algerian nationals were expelled as well by the end of August 2018, 57 in 2015 and 504 in 2017. The German authorities expelled 231 Tunisian nationals in August, 251 in 2017 and 17 people in 2015. The federal government includes the three North African countries and Georgia in the list of safe nations to facilitate the expulsion procedure.
