Germany's government wants to add Morocco to the list of «safe countries of origin» for migration, reports Deutsche Welle on Wednesday. The decision was discussed earlier today in a weekly meeting attended by the Chancellor Angela Merkel's cabinet in Berlin. Tunisia, Algeria and Georgia are also affected by the procedure which if enacted would allow the German authorities to deport nationals from these countries back home. «This means that people from these safe countries cannot call upon a right to asylum (in Germany», said German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer. According to the Minister, people from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Georgia who are working and studying in Germany legally will be excluded from the proposed legislation. The bill will still have to be approved by Germany's upper house of parliament before being implemented.
