The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, presided over the signing ceremony of an investment agreement with the Chinese group Sunrise, a global leader in the textile sector, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in Rabat. This project aims to enhance the competitiveness of the Moroccan textile sector and strengthen the Kingdom's position as a regional leader. The total investment of 2.3 billion dirhams will fund the creation of two industrial units in Skhirat and Fez, generating 7,000 direct jobs and over 1,500 indirect jobs. The project will facilitate the local supply of yarn, fabrics, and garments, reducing logistical costs and delays while opening new markets for Moroccan companies. In his speech, the Head of Government praised the excellent relations between Morocco and China, highlighting the positive impact of this agreement on employment and the sector's competitiveness. He also recalled the fruitful meetings between the two parties, the latest of which took place in September 2024 in Shanghai with the president of the Sunrise Group. The signing of this agreement was carried out by Mr. Xu Lei, president of Sunrise Group, and several Moroccan ministers, including Mr. Abdelouafi Laftit, Mrs. Nadia Fettah, Mr. Nizar Baraka, Mrs. Fatim Ezzarha El Mansouri, Mr. Younes Sekkouri, Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Mr. Azzedine El Midaoui, Mrs. Leila Benali, Mr. Karim Zidane, and Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, in the presence of Mr. Ali Seddiki, Director General of the AMDI.
