The Vox party condemned the Spanish government's agreement with Morocco on Wednesday, under Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, which stipulates the «inclusion of the Arabic language and Moroccan culture» in Andalusian schools. The party noted that the «working guide» for the program is currently being sent to school councils for implementation in the 2025-2026 academic year. In a press conference, Manuel Gavira, the spokesperson for Vox in the Andalusian Parliament, explained that the program signed between the Sanchez government and Morocco aims to teach the Arabic language and Moroccan culture in primary and secondary schools in Andalusia. This initiative is intended for Moroccan students as well as others of various nationalities, including Spaniards who wish to join. Gavira also criticized the Andalusian government led by Juanma Moreno, accusing it of «contributing to providing classrooms and educational infrastructure» to implement this program. The Vox spokesperson called for this program to be taught «in the Moroccan embassy or in private schools, without the need for it to pass through Andalusian schools», asserting that the aim of this program is «to promote a culture that contradicts our values», which, among other things, «limits the role of women in society». The spokesperson for the far-right party in the Andalusian Parliament warned that the Moroccan government would be «responsible for appointing the teachers who will teach the Arabic language and Moroccan culture in Andalusian schools» noting that «Morocco will also take on the role of educational inspection in Andalusian schools».
