Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling has unveiled a new route connecting Barcelona with Essaouira, further enhancing its network to Morocco. The new service is set to commence in July, with flights operating twice a week. According to a company statement, this move is part of a larger strategy to expand international air connectivity from Barcelona. In support of this expansion, Vueling plans to introduce three additional aircraft to its fleet stationed at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. This will enable the airline to boost its capacity by 9 percent compared to the previous summer. «This summer expansion and the addition of these new routes underscore Vueling's commitment to further connecting Barcelona to premium international destinations», stated Jordi Pla, Vueling's Network and Strategy Director. Founded in 2004, Vueling Airlines is headquartered in El Prat de Llobregat, near Barcelona, and operates as a low-cost airline.
