Morocco's National Social Security Fund (CNSS) has announced an exceptional weekend opening of all its collection offices across the Kingdom on January 11 and 12. This initiative is part of the «remise gracieuse» operation, targeting companies with outstanding debts. In a statement, the CNSS emphasized the significance of this operation, stating, «Given the importance of this initiative, CNSS is notifying all its affiliates about the exceptional opening of all its collection offices across various regions of the Kingdom on Saturday, January 11 and Sunday, January 12, 2025.» The operation, which concludes on January 15, 2025, aims to assist debtor affiliates in settling their arrears. It offers them an opportunity to benefit from an ex gratia discount on late payment surcharges, penalty payments, and collection costs, as per the CNSS statement. According to the CNSS, this remission applies to all debts incurred from December 2024 onwards, with discounts calculated based on the payment deadline. To take advantage of the «remise gracieuse», debtor companies can settle their dues in full to receive a 60% discount on penalties and collection costs, and a 90% discount on penalty payments, as outlined in the CNSS press release. Alternatively, if companies opt for a payment plan not exceeding 24 months, the discount rates are 50% for penalties and collection costs, and 80% for penalty payments, the statement continues. For payment plans extending beyond 24 months, the discount rates are reduced to 40% for penalties and collection costs, and 70% for penalty payments.
