A 44-year-old Moroccan man, wanted by the Moroccan authorities and Interpol since 2005 for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking, was arrested in Tarifa by the Spanish police, while he was trying to board a ferry for Tangier, ABC reports. Police officers found that the man is wanted under an arrest warrant issued by Interpol and an international arrest warrant issued by the Moroccan authorities. The suspect tried in 2015 to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics into Spain from Morocco via trucks. The Moroccan authorities had opened an investigation and made several arrests, but it was finally in Tarifa that the man, who was fleeing justice, was arrested. He could be sentenced in Morocco for drug trafficking, transport and export of banned substances, according to the judicial authorities of the Tangier court.
