Donald Trump is ready to apologize for retweeting anti-Muslim videos in November, reports BBC. In an interview conducted by Peirs Morgan, a British journalist working for UK's ITV channel, the US president said that he did not know about the group that first shared the videos on Twitter. In November, Trump retweeted three videos first put on twitter by Jayda Fransen, a deputy leader of Britain First, a far-right and ultranationalist British political organization formed in 2011 by former members of the British National Party. Asked if he regretted retweeting the anti-Muslim videos, Trump told the British journalist : «It was done because I am a big believer in fighting radical Islamic terror». «I know nothing about them, I don't want to be involved with people (like that)», he argued adding «if you are telling me they're horrible people, horrible, racist people, I would certainly apologize if you'd like me to do that». For the record, the first video retweeted by Donald Trump was captioned «Muslims migrants beating up a Dutch boy on crutches» while the second one was entitled «Muslim destroys statue of Virgin Mary». The third clip read «Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death». Replying to the American president's retweets, a spokesperson for the UK Prime Minister Theresa May said that Trump was «wrong» and that «Britain First seeks to divide communities through their use of hateful narratives which peddle lies and stoke tensions».
