Moroccan customs agents, working with national security elements, intercepted early on Saturday morning an attempt to traffic 1.2 tons of cannabis resin at the Tangier Med port. The drugs were hidden within compartments built into the metal chassis of an international cargo truck registered in Morocco. The driver, a 28-year-old Moroccan citizen, was arrested. The suspect is under judicial investigation overseen by the prosecution to identify all those involved and determine the potential domestic and international connections of this criminal activity. This seizure is part of ongoing security operations to combat international drug trafficking.
