The Polisario wants a seat at the UN. This is the wish expressed by the movement's «Minister of Foreign Affairs». «The Saharawi state claims its seat at the United Nations since Morocco continues to put obstacles to the holding of a self-determination referendum», demanded Mohamed Ould Salek during a press conference held Monday, April 5 in Algiers. The official reiterated the rejection of his movement to «repeat the bitter and painful experience of three decades of waiting», reports the Polisario press agency. This statement is part of a communication campaign launched by the Front ahead of the examination of the Western Sahara at the Security Council, scheduled for April 21. Not being a member of the UN, the Polisario does not attend Security Council meetings and does not directly contact the Secretary General. It always resorts to a third State to transmit its letters and observations.
