Police operating at Mohammed V international airport in Casablanca arrested a 51-year-old Chinese woman on Monday pursuant to an international arrest warrant issued against her by the French judicial authorities in a kidnapping case, said the national police (DGSN). The suspect, arrested on arrival at Mohammed V airport on a flight from Abu Dhabi, is the subject of an Interpol Red Notice after being convicted in absentia by the French court in a kidnapping case of her minor son whom she took out of French territory without the authorization of her former spouse, added the same source. She was remanded in custody to complete the investigation led under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, while the French authorities were notified of her arrest, pending the transfer procedure by the Moroccan judicial authorities. This operation is part of the DGSN services' efforts to strengthen international cooperation mechanisms in security areas.
