The Moroccan consul general in Turin Mohamed Khalil represented, Saturday, the Kingdom of Morocco at the State funerals for the victims of Tuesday's bridge collapse in Genoa. King Mohammed VI had sent a message of condolence and compassion to president of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, in which the Sovereign expressed to him, the grieving families and to the friendly Italian people, his deep condolences and sincere feelings of compassion, imploring God to grant them patience and comfort. The king also wished prompt recovery to the wounded. The search operation for those missing ended overnight after the last three bodies were found, bringing the official death toll to 43. The government has declared Saturday a national day of mourning and declared a state of emergency for Genoa, one of Italy's largest ports.
