On Tuesday, June 26th, Rabat will host a political directors' level meeting with key members of the Defeat ISIS Coalition, focusing on the terrorist organization's threats in Africa. «This meeting will be an opportunity for Coalition partners to discuss next steps to ensure ISIS is dealt an enduring defeat in Iraq and Syria and ways to accelerate our collective approach to defeat ISIS's global ambitions», said the U.S. State Department in a communiqué sent to Yabiladi. In Rabat, participants will have to examine «ways to cooperate» and have a «detailed discussion of priorities for the Coalition's multiple lines of effort, including stabilization, foreign terrorist fighters, counterterrorist financing, and counter-messaging», says the same source. The meeting comes as several terrorist attacks carried by groups affiliated to Ali Baghdadi targeted Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Somalia, and Nigeria. The Rabat meeting will be led by Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS Brett McGurk. This is the second time that the diplomat visits Morocco after his trip in January 15th, 2016.
