Minister delegate for relations with parliament and civil society and government spokesperson Mustapha El Khalfi, said Thursday that the latest report issued by Reporters Without Borders on freedom of press in Morocco is «unfair and lacks balance», reports MAP news agency. «The report doesn't take into account the multiple steps taken by Morocco», he said responding to journalists during a press briefing held today in Rabat. Moreover, the minister was surprised at «the ranking which well positioned other countries that witnessed worse events when compared to Morocco», added the same source. El Khalfi also criticized the methodology used the France-based NGO that defends and promotes freedom of information and press, when compiling and analyzing data. For the record, Reporters Without Borders's annual report, 2017 saw a great deal of additional judicial harassment of journalists in Morocco. The latter's performance declined when compared to previous years.
