From October the 14th to 21st, 2017, the city of Fes will host the 10th edition of the Festival of Sufi culture, organizers said on Monday in a. the edition is entitled «Sufism to meet the wisdom of the world : the road to Sufism from Morocco to India». «Many speakers, brotherhoods and artists from Morocco and from different countries of the world will come to testify to the richness of this living heritage of literary, poetic, artistic and spiritual Sufism,» the statement continues. This festival dedicated to Sufism invites us to discover the civilization of Islam through the universality of its spiritual values and encounters based on dialogue and the exchange between cultures, according to the same source. The Sufi Culture Festival intervenes «at a time when Islam is reduced to caricatures,» say its organizers. Among the participants in this 10th edition, the Brotherhood of Dervishes-Tourneurs of Konya, the great brotherhoods of Morocco, Farida Parveen, the speakers Souad El Hakim, Leili Anvar, Andrew Harvey, Shiva Prakash, Touria Iqbal and Jaafar Kansoussi. The official opening is scheduled for Saturday, October 14 at 3 pm, followed by an «artistic moment» at the Jnan Sbil Park and a concert by the Al Kawthar ensemble in Granada (with the participation of Ihsane Rmiki). The closing ceremony with the big voices of the Samâa of Morocco in Bab al Makina, scheduled for Saturday 21 October, will be preceded by a round table and a summary of the work of the week at the Jnan Sbil Park, informs the organizers.
