Iconic figures of poetry will attend in the 7th and 8th of April in Chefchaouen the 32nd edition of the national festival of Moroccan Modern poetry organized by "les amis d'Al Mouaatamid" association. During this festival, poets will have the chance to recite their words and aesthetic expressions in the city's beautiful and historical sites. Chefchaouen known by its Andalusian vibes will host literary evenings and poetry exhibitions to bring together the lovers of this literary genre. This edition, according to a statement issued by the festival organizers, is brought to honor the rich experience of the Moroccan poet Abderrafie Jouahri. The festival is also supposed to shed light on Jouahri's works of art and his contribution in the world of music knowing that he wrote several songs and participated in the enrichment of the national cultural heritage. Songs like "Rahila" sung by Mohamed Am Hayani, "Al Qamar Al Ahmar" by Abdelhadi Belkhayat, and "Ya Jar Wadina" performed by Rajae Belamlih were all written by the poet, song writer and politician. «Through selecting Abderrafie Jouahri, les amis d'Al Mouatassim celebrate a symbol of the Moroccan literature and poetry. It is an acknowledgement of his pioneering role as a creator», explains the association in a communiqué pointing out that the genius literary works of this artist have marked the modern literature scene in the country. This cultural event will feature artistic concerts, poetic evenings and several activities that are related to this literary genre.
