Attijariwafa Bank and the Ministry of Industry and Trade signed a partnership agreement on Tuesday, March 11, in Rabat to advance the digitalization of merchants. The signing ceremony was attended by Minister Ryad Mezzour and Attijariwafa Bank President Mohamed El Kettani. According to an official statement, the partnership aims to establish «an integrated system to raise awareness and support the promotion of e-commerce and the digitalization of merchants, a sector that plays a pivotal role in the national economy». The initiative seeks to help merchants grow, equip them with the necessary tools for long-term sustainability, and facilitate their transition into the digital age. To achieve this, several initiatives will be implemented, particularly for very small businesses, including digital transformation programs, awareness campaigns, support for digitalization processes, financial inclusion efforts, and the promotion of digital payment solutions. Additionally, the partnership aims to strengthen the e-commerce ecosystem. The support program will also leverage the Dar Al Moukawil platform, offering merchants access to specialized, high-value services at no cost. These include training and advisory sessions, networking opportunities, and expert-led workshops to enhance business development.
