The Royal Gendarmerie in Jamaat Shaim, a town in Safi Province, has dismantled a drug distribution network that exploited minors to evade law enforcement. The operation led to the arrest of four young men and a teenage girl, caught in the act with bladed weapons and a sum of money intended to purchase over 400 hallucinogenic pills from a major dealer. According to Assabah newspaper, the suspects, who were riding motorcycles, attracted the attention of the Royal Gendarmerie due to their suspicious behavior, prompting authorities to place them under surveillance. Preliminary investigations revealed that the network primarily used minors to smuggle hallucinogenic pills through innovative methods, making it harder for security forces to detect their activities. The suspects admitted to belonging to a gang that systematically distributes drugs in secret. The investigation, conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the network's operations, including its funding sources and regional reach.
