On Monday, lawyers and former bar presidents in Morocco filed a complaint against the Israeli Minister of Transport, accusing her of war crimes. Miri Regev is expected to arrive in Marrakech tomorrow as part of her participation in the fourth World Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, which is being held from February 18 to 20, 2025. On the eve of this event, the National Action Group for Palestine confirmed the action taken with the Court of Appeal in Rabat. In a statement, the group announced that the complaint aims to question Miri Regev about «her criminal past and her responsibility within the current [Israeli] government for committing war crimes and genocide». In the same vein, the group criticized the minister's presence on national territory, calling her participation a «provocation to the feelings of the Moroccan people». The group also called on judicial authorities to «take the necessary legal measures against her» upon her arrival in the kingdom. Miri Regev's visit, contested in Morocco due to the Israeli occupation of the Gaza Strip, has sparked controversy in Israel for different reasons. In Israel, the media have questioned the funding of the minister's trip, including the involvement of the ministry's director general, Moshe Ben Zaken, and her personal assistant, as well as the security costs incurred.
