The Prime Minister of Palestine, Mohammad Mustafa, engaged in a telephone conversation yesterday with Morocco's Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita. The discussion centered on «the latest developments in Palestine, the progress of the ceasefire in Gaza, and the necessary efforts for urgent humanitarian relief», as reported by Mustafa's office on X. The Palestinian Prime Minister «expressed appreciation to Morocco's King, government, and people for their steadfast support for Palestine», according to the same source. Mustafa also «commended Morocco's unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause and the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to end the occupation, achieve freedom, independence, and statehood». Following the implementation of the Gaza truce, the Islamist Hamas movement did not extend thanks to Morocco for its solidarity with the Palestinian people. For Rabat, the Palestinian Authority remains the sole interlocutor, despite previous visits to Morocco by Hamas leaders, such as Khaled Mechaal and Ismail Haniyeh, during the tenure of Saad-Eddine El Othmani's government. Numerous messages from King Mohammed VI to President Mahmoud Abbas and visits to Morocco by ministers of the Palestinian executive underscore this stance.
