Casablanca-based association LionsGeek is celebrating the launch of its third program aimed at improving the employability of young people who have dropped out of school, social, or professional life through digital training. This non-profit organization is a result of a collaboration between 2M and the Wallonia-Brussels Region, in collaboration with the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation in Morocco and the Association for the Promotion of Education and Training Abroad (APEFE). Comprising over 60 young people, the third promotion will benefit from a six-month program focusing on the skills most in demand in the digital sector, including web development, content creation, and digital marketing. The program will be delivered by trainers and professionals in the field and the first courses were inaugurated on Monday, May 27th, at the LionsGeek training and incubation space in Ain Sbaa (Casablanca). Since November 2022, LionsGeek has been working to equip young Moroccans with the digital skills they need to succeed in the job market. To date, it has trained over 80 young people in these fields, with a 95% professional integration rate for its first class. It has also organized various events like hackathons, conferences, and workshops, reaching a total of over 500 young people. LionsGeek prioritizes equal opportunity and inclusion by guaranteeing a transparent selection process and welcoming diverse profiles. «We firmly believe that this diversity is a catalyst for the development of young Moroccan talent in the digital industry (...) This third promotion will - once again - be perfectly balanced in terms of gender, even for our Coding School (...)», declares Mahdi Bouziane, Executive Director of LionsGeek, in a press release.
