The Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled, Thursday, the names of the African Ballon d'Or finalists. Surprisingly, the list did not include Moroccan goalkeeper and international player Yassine Bounou. The Al Hilal goalkeeper showcased the performance of a lifetime during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He qualified alongside Atlas Lions to the competition's semifinals. During the same year, he also won the Europa league with his former Spanish club Sevilla FC. For the record, Moroccan footballer Achraf Hakimi is one of the finalists for the CAF African Player of the Year. The list also includes Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen and Egypt winger Mohamed Salah. The CAF awards ceremony will take place in Marrakech on December 11.
