The German Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee has rejected the examination, scheduled for Thursday, January 14, of a proposal presented by pro-Polisario MPs. The text submitted by MPs from Alliance 90 / the Greens, entitled «Not forgetting the Western Sahara conflict, enforce international law» is not eligible to be voted, reads a Bundestag document. The same group of MPs have presented before another proposal devoted to the same subject entitled «Avoiding the escalation in Western Sahara, making UN mediation possible». For their part, MPs from the Die Linke formation, created in 2007 and also bringing together former communists of the former German Democratic Republic, submitted a text titled «Not to recognize the occupation of Western Sahara». The two motions will soon be the subject of a discussion in the Foreign Affairs Committee.
