Policemen on Wednesday thwarted an illegal emigration operation in Kenitra and arrested five people for their alleged links to a criminal network active in the organization of irregular migration and human trafficking. According to a statement from National Police (DGSN), two of the suspects were arrested during a security operation in the «Fouarat» district in Kenitra, before the searches and investigations lead to the arrest of three other accomplices in the «Saleh Rachid» area, located on the outskirts of the city. A total of 41 would-be irregular migrants were also arrested, including three women, a minor and a citizen of Arab nationality, the source pointed out. Search operations also led to the seizure of a light car, a scooter, a marine engine and life jackets, a list of would-be irregular migrants, the sums paid to the organizers, in addition to 300 liters of fuel. The five suspects, aged between 19 and 58, and the would-be irregular migrants are the subject of a judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
