Tangier-Med port police foiled on Monday, on the basis of accurate information by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), an attempt to smuggle 25.5 kilograms of cocaine on board an international transportation truck from a European country. Search operations led to the seizure of a total amount of 25.5 kilograms of cocaine carefully hidden under the driver's cabin, said the National Police (DGSN) in a statement, noting that the driver, a 42-year-old Moroccan, was arrested. The suspect was remanded in police custody for the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office in order to shed light on this case, determine the ramifications and links with international networks of drug trafficking, and identify potential accomplices.
