In a series of pictures taken by fans and passersby in Marrakech, Clinton was seen visiting the Jemaa el-Fnaa square and roaming the Samarine market narrow streets. Clinton was spotted taking a picture with a snake, visiting arts and crafts shops and surrounded by a huge crowd of fans. The 42nd president of the United States was accompanied by security agents when visiting the city's souk. According to Moroccan newspapers, Clinton is in Marrakech to attend the birthday of his Moroccan-American friend Marc Lasry. Well-informed sources told French-language newspaper Leseco that Clinton flew to Marrakech to celebrate the birthday of the Moroccan billionaire, who is turning 60 years old on September 30. The same source reveals that Lasry, who left Morocco for the US with his family as a child, is hosting a birthday party in La Mamounia hotel in Marrakech and is inviting other celebrities to it. For the record, Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary Clinton attended the wedding of Lasry in Marrakech in 2017 alongside other celebrities.
