Morocco strongly condemns the demolition by the Israeli authorities of houses belonging to Palestinian citizens in East Jerusalem, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said on Thursday in Rabat. «Morocco expresses its firm condemnation of the demolition by the Israeli authorities of houses belonging to Palestinian citizens in Oued al-Homs south of the occupied Al Quds, located in a classified area A according to the Oslo agreements», said Bourita at a press briefing after talks with Timothy Harris, Prime Minister of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The minister stressed that this unacceptable approach is contrary to the provisions of international law and to the agreements signed by the Palestinian Authority and Israel. «Morocco flatly rejects all unilateral measures likely to change the historical and legal status in Al Quds, to stir feelings of despair and disappointment among the Palestinian people and to undermine the Middle East peace process», he added. Morocco calls on the international community and the influential countries in the Middle East peace process to vigorously face this Israeli move which is an addition to a series of unilateral measures that undermine the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, Bourita concluded.
