A court in Manresa, a Spanish municipality, remanded in custody on Tuesday four Moroccan nationals accused of sexually assaulting a minor in the municipality of Barcelona. The four suspects aged between 18 and 25 are charged with assaulting a 17-year-old girl, Spanish newspaper El Nacional reports. The judge explained that his decision to detain the defendants temporarily in order to avoid their escape, given the heavy prison sentences they face. The suspects were not heard, but the judge believes he has enough evidence to charge them, the same source added. The alleged victim told the Spanish authorities that she has met one of the boys in the street on a Saturday night. She accused the three other people of raping her. The girl called the police from the mobile phone of one of the suspects. The Esquadra Mossos also believe that a fifth person would also be involved in this case but has not yet been identified.
