Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj signed, on Monday in Rabat, four agreements in several areas aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. Inked after Bourita's talks with Swaraj, these four memoranda of understanding involve the areas of counterterrorism, housing, youth and the facilitation of the movement of businessmen between two countries. A memorandum of understanding, on the establishment of a working group on security cooperation and information sharing concerning any development in the field of the fight against terrorism, as well as consultation on issues related to counterterrorism in the United Nations and other specialized agencies, was signed. In the field of housing, Bourita and the Indian official initialed a memorandum of understanding between the Moroccan housing ministry and its Indian counterpart aiming to establish bilateral cooperation through the sharing of expertise, especially in technological innovation, building technologies, social housing construction, anti-seismic construction, smart cities, as well as sustainable and environment-friendly construction. A memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Indian Ministry of Youth Affairs, aimed at broadening and strengthening bilateral relations in the youth field through the participation of young people from both countries in youth events and activities organized by both parties, was signed by the two ministers. A memorandum of understanding between the Moroccan and Indian governments on the mutual simplification of business visa issuing was also signed, in keeping with the principle of equality and reciprocity, for the benefit of businessmen and investors from both sides wishing to undertake commercial transactions.
