On Sunday, December the 30th, authorities in Midlet arrested an individual with alleged ties to the murder of a young woman in Oued Ifrane, a small town between Ifrane and Azrou. The arrest came after the decapitated body of a 24-year-old woman was found on Friday. The arrestee's family said that he disappeared after the tragedy. According to an authorized source quoted by Hespress, the 33-year-old suspect, who is from Ait Fdouli village, was arrested after local officials realized that he had a suspicious behavior. The same source told the Arabic-language newspaper that the man admitted that he allegedly killed the victim once at the Royal Gendarmerie headquarters. The suspect also confessed how he allegedly decapitated the woman and where he hid the knife he used. He allegedly told authorities that he took revenge on the woman after he realized that she supposedly would have cheated on him. The victim, who is a mother of a seven-year-old daughter, was the breadwinner of her family. She worked in the fields to financially support her father and daughter.
