Moroccan mountaineer Bouchra Baibanou is planning to climb, starting from December the 2nd, Mount Vinson, a large mountain massif in Antarctica. She will be the first Moroccan national to climb the highest mountains in the world's seven continents, said a press release sent Tuesday to Yabiladi. «I am pursuing my dream, with a lot of determination, to climb Mount Vinson, the highest mountain in Antarctica, and be the first Moroccan national to complete the seven summits challenge», said Bouchra Baibanou. «My message is to prove that dreams can come true. Just believe in it and have the will for it», she added. Mount Vinson is the highest peak in Antarctica that is 21 km long and 13 km wide. It is located within the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains about 1,200 kilometers from the South Pole. Baibanou's mission will take about 10 days, depending on weather conditions. The seven summits project was launched in February 2011 by Bouchra Baibanou. She climbed Kilimanjaro, Elbrous, Aconcagua, Denali and the highest peak in Oceania, the Carstensz pyramid in November 2015. In May 2017, she climbed Everest, becoming the first Moroccan and North African woman to climb the highest mountain in the world.
