The Moroccan football team drew 2-2 against their Comorian counterpart, Tuesday at the Saïd Mohamed Cheikh International Stadium in Mitsamiouli (Comoros), in their fourth match of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The locals opened the scoring in the 9th minute of the game by Ben Mohamed Fardou. Khalid Boutaib (53rd) equalized for the Atlas Lions before Noureddine Amrabet (62nd) scored the second goal. However, the Moroccans conceded the equalizer at the very end of the game (90th+1) by the same Fardou. This draw allows Morocco to temporarily join Cameroon at the top of the standings with 7 points, while the Comorians are last with 2 points. In the first leg, played last Saturday at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, the Atlas Lions managed to pick up a difficult win (1-0) thanks to a penalty, kicked by Fayçal Fajr in extra time (90th+7).
