After the two Dutch politicians announced their prohibition of access to the city of Al Hoceïma, the spokesman of the Moroccan government, Mustapha El Khalfi, finally reacted. At a press conference held in Rabat on Thursday, El Khalfi said that "there has been no ban. We have not issued a prohibition decision". The minister also denounced a fake news, adding that this clarification intends to "cut short statements designated to circulate false information". As a reminder, Kati Piri and Lilianne Ploumen, both members of the Dutch Labor Party, issued a statement saying that the local authorities "prevented [them] from accessing the city of Al Hoceïma". During their stay, they met Moroccan officials in Rabat and Fes, said the minister. The two deputies said in their statement that they had attended, on Monday in Casablanca, the trial of Hirak militants. They had also met with members of the detainees' families and their lawyers. For record, Kati Piri held a meeting last February at the European Parliament in Brussels, which was attended by several families of detainees, including the father of Nasser Zefzafi, Ahmed Zefzafi, lawyers and Rifan militants.
