The Jewish Moroccan Community of Toronto (CJMT) declared in a statement published today on Marketwired, a press release distribution service headquartered in Toronto, that they celebrating the Canada's 150 anniversary by organizing a festival. This week-long cultural event will take place in different locations throughout the city from 4th to 12th of June 2017. «The CJMT has been instrumental in supporting and strengthening the Moroccan Jewish community in Toronto. The CJMT recently received a grant from the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund to help support the Judeo Moroccan Festival for Canada's 150th celebration», said David Zimmer, member of the Provincial Parliament of Willowdale in a statement. On the other hand, Simon Keslassy president of the CJMT told the same source that «this year's festival celebrating Canada 150 will bring various communities together; not only to learn more about our culture, traditions and customs but also to celebrate our great country, Canada that has welcomed us with open arms and warmth.» The CJMT is an organization that was founded in 2011 to celebrate the 2,000 years of Jewish life in morocco and 50 Years of diplomatic relations between Canada and Morocco, Marketwired reports. For the record, the 150th anniversary of Canada occurs in 2017 as the country marks the sesquicentennial anniversary of the Canadian Confederation.
