In a recent development, the Animal Rescue Welfare Association traveled to the city of Sidi Yahya El Gharb on Wednesday to file an official complaint with the local police regarding the individuals involved in the animal torture videos. According to the association's president, Zouhair Lebdaoui, who spoke to Yabiladi, «The police responded swiftly to the complaint, listened to the association's members, and we provided all the videos we received through our platforms». Following an investigation, the security services were able to locate and detain two minors on the same day. The minors, who filmed the torture scenes, were questioned in the presence of their guardians and admitted to documenting these horrific acts. They have been placed under provisional custody pending their appearance before the public prosecutor. Meanwhile, the search continues for the teenagers seen torturing animals in the videos. A search warrant has been issued for their arrest, according to the association's statement. The case erupted a few days ago after shocking footage circulated widely on social media, showing teenagers brutally torturing animals. The videos sparked widespread outrage, prompting immediate action from animal protection associations.
