On the sidelines of the 8th edition of the Automotive Meetings Tangier-Med, two partnership agreements were signed this Wednesday in Tangier to support the continued growth of Morocco's automotive industry. The first agreement—between the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Economic Inclusion, ANAPEC, and AMICA—aims to strengthen skills across the automotive ecosystem. It focuses on training qualified professionals tailored to the sector's needs and facilitating their integration into the job market. The second agreement, signed by the Ministry of Industry and AMICA, is dedicated to boosting local integration, with the goal of increasing the added value of Moroccan vehicle and component exports. A specialized consultancy will be brought in to identify industrial opportunities and design projects for industry stakeholders. In 2024, Morocco's automotive sector achieved a record export turnover of 157 billion dirhams, representing a 148% increase in less than a decade. The country is now positioning itself as a globally competitive production hub and a key player in the future of mobility. The Stellantis plant in Kenitra exclusively assembles three models of compact electric cars, while Renault has entrusted its Moroccan factories with two strategic EV models. Organized by AMICA in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, this 8th edition brings together leading industry players under the theme «Automotive Industry: Opportunities and Risks», and features B2B meetings, conferences, and roundtables on electric and connected vehicles, as well as decarbonization.
