The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have received the first batch of AH-64E Apache combat helicopters, ordered from the United States in November 2019. As planned, Khouribga Air Base welcomed the new aircraft yesterday, according to FAR Forum Maroc (an unofficial source) on Platform X. The base had been prepared in advance for their arrival. In November 2019, the administration of then-President Donald Trump approved the sale of 36 Apache helicopters to Morocco, including twelve optional units, along with a wide range of equipment. The contract was valued at $4.25 billion, or over 40 billion dirhams. That same year, Morocco also placed an order with the United States for 25 new F-16 Block 72 fighters and the modernization of its 23 existing aircraft of the same type, for a total of around $5 billion. Donald Trump's potential return to power could further boost Morocco's arms acquisitions from the U.S. market.
