The General Staff of the South Zone is hosting the final planning meeting for the 21st African Lion 2025 exercise from February 24 to 28 in Agadir. According to a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), the meeting brings together representatives from the FAR, the United States Armed Forces, and several allied nations to finalize preparations for the various activities planned for this edition. These activities will include training in multiple operational fields, planning exercises for participating officers, and Nuclear, Radiological, Biological, and Chemical (NRBC) decontamination drills, as well as joint military maneuvers. The 21st African Lion exercise will also incorporate humanitarian and social initiatives alongside the military drills. Scheduled to take place from May 12 to 23, 2025, in Agadir, Tan-Tan, Tiznit, Kenitra, Benguerir, and Tifnit, the exercise aims to strengthen military cooperation between Morocco and the United States, enhance interoperability, and improve multinational intervention capabilities—ultimately contributing to regional security, peace, and stability.
