Police officers at the Tangier-City Port successfully thwarted, late Sunday night, an attempt to smuggle 64,080 psychotropic tablets and arrested three individuals for their suspected connection to a criminal network involved in international drug and psychotropic trafficking, according to a security source. The suspects, a couple and their child, aged between 22 and 54, were arrested upon arrival aboard a maritime shuttle from a European port, the source added, noting that searches conducted aboard a commercial vehicle they were using led to the seizure of 64,080 psychotropic tablets, including 50,880 «Rivotril» and 13,200 «Trankimazine». The suspects were placed under judicial investigation by the Tangier Prefectural Criminal Investigation Department, supervised by the public prosecutor's office, with a view to uncovering the ins and outs of this case and identifying any possible connections to this criminal activity.
