Moroccan hacker group known as Moroccan Soldiers claimed to have targeted several institutional websites in Tunisia this weekend. These Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks affected the web pages of the Independent Higher Authority for Elections (ISIE), as well as those of several ministries, including Foreign Affairs, Interior, Defense, Finance, Higher Education, Agriculture, Communication, Social Affairs, Health, and Justice, as well as the Prime Ministry. ? This cyberattack was not reported on the Tunisian government's social networks. Without aiming to steal personal data, DDoS attacks allow their perpetrators to overwhelm targeted websites to make them inaccessible. Previously, Moroccan hackers have taken down several institutional sites of several countries or even Polisario platforms. One of these operations was carried out in 2022, following the opening of the eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Tunisia. This meeting was attended by the head of the Polisario, Brahim Ghali, who was received on this occasion by the Tunisian president, Kaïs Saïed.
