American company Mérieux NutriSciences, known for its expertise in food safety, quality, and sustainability solutions, has acquired Bureau Veritas' food testing operations in Morocco, Japan, Southeast Asia, and South Africa. Announced in a press release on Monday, February 3, the Chicago-based firm emphasized that this acquisition significantly enhances its standing as a leader in the food testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) industry. «We are thrilled to have achieved this important step in our global deal with Bureau Veritas. Today, we significantly enhance our ability to deliver high-value, science-based solutions to our customers and the food industry at large across East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa,» stated Nicolas Cartier, CEO of Mérieux NutriSciences. «I warmly welcome our new colleagues in these regions and look forward to working together to advance our mission of creating a better world, serving our customers, and growing our people.» This acquisition is part of a larger agreement with Bureau Veritas, a French company specialized in testing, inspection and certification founded in 1828, covering its global food laboratory testing activities. These encompass microbiological and chemical analysis, as well as molecular testing, further solidifying Mérieux NutriSciences' comprehensive service offerings in the food industry.
