The Ministry of Public Works and Water has issued a call for caution among road users, as snowfall is anticipated above 1,400 meters from Wednesday evening across several Moroccan provinces. The advisory comes in response to a meteorological alert from the General Directorate of Meteorology. Snowfall is expected above 1,400 meters starting Wednesday evening in the provinces of Khénifra, Ifrane, Sefrou, Al Haouz, Midelt, Boulemane, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Azilal, Béni Mellal, Taza, Guercif, Figuig, Jerrada, Taourirt, Al Hoceïma, and Chefchaouen. In addition to snowfall, heavy thundershowers are forecasted for the provinces of Tangier, Tétouan, Fahs-Anjra, M'Diq-Fnideq, Larache, Chefchaouen, Taza, Khémisset, Meknès, El Hajeb, Sefrou, Khénifra, Béni Mellal, Moulay Yacoub, and Khouribga. Strong gusts of wind are also expected in the provinces of Al Hoceïma, Chefchaouen, Taza, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Zagora, Midelt, Sefrou, Ifrane, Azilal, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Assa-Zag, Figuig, Taourirt, Guercif, and Boulemane. These weather conditions coincide with the school vacation period. Consequently, the Ministry is urging road users to be vigilant due to potentially poor or non-existent visibility, as highlighted in a press release from the department.
