On Wednesday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled the nominations for the women's categories of the 2024 CAF Awards, with Morocco strongly represented. AS FAR and national team player Sanaa Mssoudy is nominated for the prestigious CAF Women's Player of the Year award, alongside nine other African footballers from both domestic and international leagues. Mssoudy is also up for the Interclub Player of the Year award, competing against her AS FAR and national team teammates Doha El Madani and Khadija Er-Rmichi. Er-Rmichi is also nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year, while El Madani is in the running for Young Player of the Year, alongside her fellow Moroccan Lina Mokhtar Jamai (Paris Saint-Germain). AS FAR coach Mohamed Amine Alioua is nominated for Coach of the Year, alongside Lamia Boumehdi, the Moroccan coach of Congolese club TP Mazembe. For the National Team of the Year award, Morocco is represented by two teams: the women's national «A» team and the women's national U-20 team. AS FAR, which has qualified for the final of the CAF Women's Champions League being held in Morocco, is also competing for the Club of the Year award. The prestigious CAF Awards 2024 ceremony, covering the period from January 2024 to October 2024, will take place in Marrakech on December 16.
