The Moroccan consulate in Valencia confirmed that seven Moroccans have died and eight remain missing due to the floods in Spain's Valencia province. The two newly identified victims add to the five deaths previously announced by the consulate. «The bodies belong to two minors and were found the day before yesterday (Tuesday). They will be buried in Valencia," said Consul General Said El Idrissi Bouzidi to Yabladi. The consulate has begun procedures to repatriate the other victims' bodies to Morocco. Four have already been sent back, with one now in his hometown in Rhamna, while three others are en route. Another body is scheduled to be repatriated on Sunday by air, according to the consul. Aid from Morocco In a gesture of support, Morocco sent 25 fire trucks, maintenance and suction equipment, and 80 rescue personnel to Spain on Wednesday. They were welcomed by Consul General Said El Idrissi Bouzidi and the Director of Civil Protection of Valencia. The Moroccan relief team is set to begin work today to assist with the cleanup from the devastating floods, which have resulted in 224 deaths. «This support has been received very positively, both from the Moroccan community here, who feel proud of their homeland for standing by Spain, and from the Spanish people, who urgently need this help in these challenging times», said Consul General Bouzidi. Yesterday, Valencia's government delegate, Pilar Bernabé, announced that the trucks from Morocco are equipped with essential tools to clear clogged sewers. Two phone lines have been dedicated to assist members of the Moroccan community affected by this disaster and to report missing individuals. The total death toll in Spain has now reached 224, marking one of the country's deadliest floods in decades.
