Teams from Morocco, Tunisia, and Libya have automatically qualified for the final phase of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) for Local Players, scheduled to take place from February 1 to 28, 2025 in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) made this announcement on Wednesday in Cairo during the competition's draw. The CHAN qualifiers will consist of two rounds of knockout matches. The first round will be played from October 25 to 27 and November 1 to 3, 2024. The second round will follow from December 20 to 22 and December 27 to 29, 2024. Morocco's national team of local players has clinched the CHAN title twice, in 2018 and 2020. DR Congo has also won the championship twice, in 2009 and 2016. Tunisia and Libya were crowned champions in 2011 and 2014, respectively. Senegal won the most recent title in 2022.
