On Tuesday, September 24, a 22-year-old Moroccan national was arrested at the Geneva train station in Switzerland for his alleged involvement in the rape and murder of a 19-year-old student in France. The victim's body was found lifeless in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris four days earlier. According to BFMTV, citing corroborating sources, the Paris public prosecutor's office is expected to make an extradition request without delay. The suspect reportedly arrived in France illegally from Spain at the age of 17, with a tourist visa that expired in July 2019. Due to his age, he was taken into care by the Val-d'Oise child welfare authority. BFMTV reports that the suspect was identified by investigators thanks to his DNA. He was previously convicted of raping a 23-year-old student in Taverny (Val-d'Oise) and sentenced to seven years in prison. After his release in 2024, he was subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF). However, he evaded this obligation and was subsequently entered on the wanted persons file. The suspect is accused of killing Philippine.
