A Royal Armed Forces (FAR) drone struck two Polisario vehicles yesterday near the border with Mauritania. According to a Moroccan source close to the matter, the provisional toll from the strike indicates that two members of the Front's militias were killed, and another was wounded, the source told Yabiladi. Meanwhile, a Polisario-affiliated media outlet offered a different account, claiming the strike targeted «Sahrawi civilians who were attempting to enter the liberated territories of the Sahrawi Republic». This strike coincides with the 57th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. The Polisario often takes advantage of such international events to stage attacks on FAR positions, aiming to fuel the narrative of a «war» against Morocco—attempts that frequently result in the deaths of Sahrawis. At its meeting on Sunday, September 8, the Polisario's permanent bureau of the general secretariat called for an intensification of «military actions against the Moroccan occupier».
