Moroccan international Yunis Abdelhamid has officially joined AS Saint-Etienne on a one-year contract as part of the summer transfer window. The French club announced the signing of the 36-year-old player, whose career path has been anything but typical, on social media. The Moroccan defender welcomed the new contract, stating his readiness to defend the club's colors and achieve its goals in the top league. Born in Montpellier on September 28, 1987, Yunis Abdelhamid did not attend a soccer academy at a young age. He turned professional at the age of 24, playing his first three seasons in Ligue 2. ☕️ Déjà comme chez lui ! ?✨ pic.twitter.com/Em11USDpCB — AS Saint-Etienne (@ASSEofficiel) July 5, 2024 Initially, he played for AC Arles Avignon, then Valenciennes FC.
