A Royal Navy patrol boat intercepted, on Monday off the coast of Dakhla, a boat carrying 43 sub-Saharan would-be migrants, including 4 women and 3 minors. The boat was heading to the Canary Islands, the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces said in a press release, adding that the rescued people received the necessary care onboard the Royal Navy patrol boat before being transported to the port of Dakhla and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures.
