Good news for Halima Cisse, her nine children are doing just fine. One month after giving birth in the Ain Borja clinic in Casablanca, the 25 years old mother stays alongside her nonuplets : five girls and four boys. Born after a spectacular delivery assisted by a team of 10 doctors and 25 paramedics, the babies will have to stay in the clinic's care for as long as another two months, the doctors think. After that they should be able to live without exterior assistance. Luckily, each and every one of the 9 babies breath naturally now, and their weight have significantly increased : to between 800 grams to 1.4 kilograms (1.7 and three pounds), indicates Abdelkoddous Hafsi, the clinic's spokesman. As a reminder, the young mother was transferred to Casablanca from Bamako for better care, at that time the ultrasound showed «only» seven babies. Before this delivery, only two cases of nonuplets were documented, one in Australia in 1971 and the other in Malaysia in 1999. Tragically, none of the babies lived past 6 days. Therefore, Halima Cisse and Morocco amazed the whole world and entered history.
